Tiger-Cats part ways with OL Peter Dyakowski
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats said goodbye to a familiar face on Thursday, as the club announced veteran offensive lineman Peter Dyakowski has been released.
Dyakowski spent the past 10 seasons as a fixture on the offensive line for the Ticats, appearing in 148 games over that span. Dyakowski posted a personal message on Twitter after learning the news of his release.
"I have had a fantastic 10 seasons in Hamilton. I would like to thank all of the wonderful fans who have supported me over the years, the hundreds of teammates I have played alongside, and all of the Ticats staff I have had the pleasure of working with from 2007 until today," Dyakowski wrote. "I appreciate everything that this great city has done for me and my family."
Head coach Kent Austin released a statement thanking Dyakowski for everything he's done for both the team and the city of Hamilton.
"We want to thank Peter for all of his contributions to the organization and our community," Austin wrote. "He has been an integral part of our team for over a decade and we wish him well in his future endeavours."
