Kevin Glenn is returning to where it all began.

The 37-year-old pivot is coming back for his third stint with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, 17 years after debuting with the club in 2001, the team announced Monday. Glenn spent the first half of the 2015 season with the Riders, replacing an injured Darian Durant, before being shipped to the Montreal Alouettes at the trade deadline.

"Bringing Kevin in will provide a veteran presence at quarterback while increasing the level of internal competition," Riders vice president, general manager, and head coach Chris Jones said. "Whether he is on the field or not, Kevin will have a positive impact on our group. He is a proven leader and talented player that we expect to come in and compete with the other quarterbacks for the starting position."

The 17-year veteran split last season between the Alouettes and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Glenn started nine games for the Alouettes, but attempted four passes in the final seven games of the season with the Bombers.

Over the course of his career, Glenn has registered 48,782 passing yards, placing him seventh on the CFL all-time passing list.
