The Montreal Alouettes will announce the hiring of Kavis Reed as general manager and Jacques Chapdelaine as head coach at a press conference on Wednesday, Gary Lawless of TSN has confirmed.

Reed has served in various capacities with the Alouettes, including special teams coordinator and assistant head coach, for the past two seasons, but has no previous experience as a general manager in the CFL. He spent three seasons as Edmonton Eskimos head coach from 2011-13, posting a record of 22-32.

Chapdelaine took over for Jim Popp as the Alouettes head coach during the 2016 season, posting a 4-2 record down the stretch. While that six-game stretch with Montreal was his first as a CFL head coach, he has previously been the frontman for both Laval and Simon Fraser at the collegiate level.

Whether Reed and Chapdelaine were the first choice candidates for the Alouettes is unclear, as University Of Montreal head coach Danny Maciocia reportedly turned down the President of Football Operations position with Montreal.
