Winnipeg Blue Bombers head coach Mike O'Shea and quarterback Matt Nichols are both without a contract for 2017, but that could change very soon.
Bombers general manager Kyle Walters expressed his desire to bring both back when speaking Friday.
"I want Matt Nichols back as our quarterback next year," Walters said. "I want Mike O'Shea back as our head coach next year."
Winnipeg won 11 of its final 14 games after Nichols took over the starting quarterback role, as the pivot finished with over 3,600 yards passing and 18 touchdowns.
O'Shea guided the Bombers to their first playoff appearance since 2011.
Winnipeg narrowly lost the Western semifinal to the B.C. Lions last week 32-31 after finishing 11-7, its best record since 2003.
