Stampeders-Roughriders rematch should be animosity-filled

The Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders met a week ago, but this contest figures to be more contentious.

Saskatchewan was docked $15,000 for not playing the required number of Canadians last week, and then fined $60,000 and forced to forfeit $26,000 in salary cap money on Thursday for practicing with ineligible players.

Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell poked fun at one of the fines on Twitter and wasn't shy about voicing his opinion on the situation.

"League doesn't look bad, the team housing (extra) players, doing (extra) practices and (extra) meetings in last looks bad. The end 19," Mitchell tweeted, according to the Calgay Herald.

The Stamps got the better of the Riders on the field last week with a 35-15 win, handing Saskatchewan its second straight loss and dropping Chris Jones' crew to 1-5 on the season.

Mitchell threw for 312 yards with a touchdown in the contest and kept Calgary in first place in the West. Given all that's gone on this week, one would think the Roughriders would have a little extra motivation this time around, but Mitchell is welcoming the challenge.
