Burris leaves game with finger injury, not considered serious
Ottawa RedBlacks quarterback Henry Burris left Saturday's game against the Edmonton Eskimos after suffering a finger injury, but it's not considered serious at this time, according to head coach Rick Campbell.
The 41-year-old pivot sustained the injury performing a fake handoff to running back Travon Van, and left the field to receive treatment.
While losing the veteran quarterback may hurt Ottawa in terms of leadership, the product on the field certainly didn't suffer, as backup Trevor Harris stepped in and threw a career-long 71-yard touchdown pass on his first attempt. The former Toronto Argonauts quarterback was electric in relief, throwing for 292 yards and three scores in the RedBlacks overtime win.
With Burris injury not considered serious, Harris' exemplary play may have stoked a quarterback controversy heading in to next week's game against the Montreal Alouettes.
