Shaq wants match against AEW's Cody Rhodes
Shaquille O'Neal could be making an appearance for AEW in the future.
WarnerMedia teased the possibility Monday in a press release announcing the NBA Hall of Famer's new multi-year extension with Turner Sports. The deal will see O'Neal take on an expanded role beyond his usual "Inside the NBA" gig.
"Could Shaq return to the ring, making a cameo at a future All Elite Wrestling (AEW) event on TNT? We shall see," the release reads.
O'Neal also hinted at a possible AEW match against Cody Rhodes.
"I'd love to fight Cody," he told The Athletic's Richard Deitsch. "Write it. Print it. Text it to him. Call AEW up and tell them."
O'Neal has made several WCW and WWE appearances in the past, notably taking part in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32 in 2016.
Rhodes has yet to respond to O'Neal's comments.
