Ronda Rousey has spoken out against the pre- and post-fight antics that surrounded the UFC 229 showdown between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Referring to McGregor's infamous attack on a bus carrying Nurmagomedov and other UFC fighters in April, Rousey told TMZ Sports there's no need for someone to get arrested to promote a bout.

"I understand promoting fights and having to sell them. I really do. And I understand, like, you gotta do what you gotta do promoting something. I get it. But, I don't think people have to get arrested in order to do that," the former UFC women's bantamweight champion and current WWE star said.

"I think I've been able to prove that you can make a fight exciting and make people really want to see it without crossing any legal lines."

Rousey added that she hopes the aftermath of Nurmagomedov's victory over McGregor, which saw Nurmagomedov jump out of the Octagon and attack the Irishman's corner, doesn't become a regular occurrence.

"I'm just glad both guys are healthy and I'm glad it was a great match. I'm sorry it's been soured by the aftermath," she said. "I feel like their performances aren't going to get enough credit because of what happened and I just really hope it doesn't become an ongoing trend. I want people to feel safe bringing their kids to fights."

Nurmagomedov and McGregor will both be temporarily suspended Oct. 15 ahead of an Oct. 24 meeting with the Nevada Athletic Commission.
