WWE, FOX close 5-year broadcast deal for SmackDown
SmackDown Live's move from USA Network to FOX is official.
WWE and FOX announced Tuesday that the network will air SmackDown Live as part of a new five-year agreement that commences Oct. 4, 2019. The deal is worth $205 million annually and $1.025 billion over the five years, according to Marisa Guthrie of The Hollywood Reporter.
"WWE and FOX are a perfect match," WWE's chairman and CEO Vince McMahon said in a statement. "Moving SmackDown Live to broadcast TV and having the ability to leverage FOX's extensive portfolio of world-class sporting events will expand the reach of our flagship programming."
WWE also closed a five-year extension with NBC on Tuesday to continue airing Raw on USA Network. That deal is reportedly worth $265 million annually.
