Brock Lesnar's new contract with WWE - which he signed Monday - allows him to partake in at least one UFC fight, sources told Dave Meltzer of MMAFighting.com.

It's unknown whether the deal permits the WWE Universal champion to fight multiple times in the UFC, but his pact is believed to be short-term, anyway.

Lesnar was expected to walk away from WWE after WrestleMania 34, but he instead re-signed with the professional wrestling promotion, and has been booked to defend his title April 27 in Saudi Arabia versus Roman Reigns inside a steel cage.

The former UFC heavyweight champion last fought inside the Octagon at UFC 200 in July 2016. He defeated Mark Hunt via unanimous decision, but the result was later changed to a no contest due to a failed drug test by Lesnar.

The 40-year-old Lesnar still has roughly six months remaining on his suspension for the drug test. He'd need to re-enter the United State Anti-Doping Agency drug testing pool for the clock to resume ticking on the ban.
