Bouchard withdraws from US Open due to concussion
No. 25 Eugenie Bouchard withdrew from women's singles competition at the US Open prior to her fourth-round match against Roberta Vinci on Sunday due to a concussion she sustained in a fall Friday night.
Bouchard had already withdrawn from women's and mixed doubles competition on Saturday.

She was hurt following her opening-round mixed doubles match Friday night after falling in the locker room following her win alongside Nick Kyrgios. It was reported Sunday that she fell while heading to the ice bath, hitting her head and elbow after slipping on a recently cleaned floor.
Prior to the injury, the Canadian was the only woman remaining still alive in women's singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles competitions.
Speculation that she'd withdraw from singles began when the 21-year-old cancelled previously scheduled practice times. She later arrived at Flushing Meadows and was moving very slowly, clearly not well enough to compete.
The withdrawal ends a very promising run from Bouchard as she looked to have her game back on track in New York. She's had a disappointing season that's included two first-round exits at majors, following her breakout campaign in 2014.
Meanwhile, Vinci will advance to her third US Open quarterfinal in four years. The 32-year-old Italian is a five-time Grand Slam champion in doubles, but has never made a semifinal in singles. She will face either No. 13 Ekaterina Makarova or 40th-ranked Kristina Mladenovic.
