Sabine Lisicki's magical run came to an end Friday night.
The 25-year-old German, seeded 24th at the BNP Paribas Open, fell 6-3, 3-6, 1-6 to No. 18 Jelena Jankovic in the semifinal.
Jankovic will face No. 3 Simona Halep in the final on Sunday. Halep walked through to the final after No. 1 Serena Williams withdrew from Friday's late semifinal due to a right knee injury.
Jankovic won the tournament in Indian Wells, Calif., back in 2010.
