Watch: Stephens gets ridiculously spooked by bug during presser

For all the resilience and fearlessness Sloane Stephens has shown on the court this summer - returning from a nearly yearlong injury hiatus to reach the semifinals in Toronto, Cincinnati, and now New York - she proved remarkably skittish off of it Tuesday, when an unidentified flying insect interrupted her post-match press conference.

The bug didn't look like much more than a standard house fly, but Stephens' reaction - "Oh my god, it looks like a dragon!" - made it seem like some great, nefarious monster.

Stephens eventually recovered herself and put down the beast with a swing of her shoe, but we'll have to wait until Thursday to see whether she carries any residual trauma into her semifinal match against Venus Williams.
