No. 15 seed Madison Keys has reached the fourth round at the French Open for the first time.
The 21-year-old American produced 30 winners en route to a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win over 53th-ranked Monica Puig of Portugal on Saturday.
Keys has been in great form in the buildup to the French Open, reaching the final in Rome where she lost to Serena Williams. She will next play 58th-ranked Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands.
Out of the 16 players left in the women's draw, four are Americans: Keys, the Williams sisters and Shelby Rodgers.
