It took eight years and an estimated 1,500 euros, but Bauer Amjad Hossain's passion project is finally completed.
The 63-year-old man from Bangladesh became a die-hard Germany supporter after German medicine cured him of a serious kidney disease and decided to show his support in the form of a 3.5-kilometer flag. He began work on the flag during the 2006 World Cup and unveiled it at a local stadium ahead of Sunday's 2014 Final match against Argentina.

As many as three tailors worked on the flag simultaneously during its construction. Hossain, a father of 10 children, sold farmland to pay for the monumental amount of fabric required. He is hoping for "at least" a 2-0 victory over Argentina.
