In the 27th minute of their final Group Stage match, Ecuador's Christian Noboa and France's Blaise Matuidi brutally collided heads in the air.
Despite Matuidi appearing to get the worst of the exchange. It was Noboa who was left bloodied from a cut on the back of his head. The midfielder left the pitch for only a few seconds to have gauze applied and a medical skull put on, before returning to action.
Neither player received anything remotely resembling a test to see if they were concussed.
