Tevez says he won't watch Argentina play during World Cup: I'm going to Disney World

Argentina will begin their quest for a third World Cup title when they take on Bosnia-Herzegovina on June 15, and will be hoping that their gluttony of attacking talent - Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria, Ezequiel Lavezzi and others - will be enough to power them to the coveted trophy.

One attacker who is not expected to figure in manager Alejandro Sabella's plans is Juventus star Carlos Tevez.

After his unceremonious exit from Manchester City, Tevez has been revitalized in Italy, scoring a team-high 18 league goals and helping the Bianconeri close in on what will almost certainly be a third-consecutive Serie A crown.

Despite that form, the 30-year-old has not featured for the Albiceleste since missing a vital penalty in the 2011 Copa America competition, and will almost certainly be forced to take in the action from his couch come this summer's tournament.

That is, if he even watches at all.

Via FOX Soccer, Tevez told Argentinian newspaper Cronica that he has more important plans to tend to come June:

I don’t think I will watch my national team play at the World Cup. I’ve already bought tickets to go with my wife and my three children to Disney World. They deserve that trip and I have very clear in my mind where my place is.

Mickey has more allure than Messi, apparently.

While it sure sounds like a case of sour grapes, Tevez insists that his decision has nothing to do with a reported rift between himself and Sabella.

TeamTalk has the details:

"We (Tevez and Sabella) were together during my time in Brazil when I was at Corinthians (Sabella was assistant coach to Daniel Passarella)," Tevez said. "We had a fantastic rapport. We never had any problems and our relationship was cordial and very good.

"Everyone asks me why I’m not in the team but I cannot answer that question because I would be lacking respect. Things are as they are and that’s that.

"I think he (Sabella) is convinced of his selection and that’s very good. If he has to win, he will do so with his convictions and he shouldn’t do something he doesn’t feel is right. It wouldn’t be good for him to select me now!

"My wife asked me to travel to Disney with the children and I want to give her that joy once I win the Scudetto with Juventus."

Enjoy the Haunted Mansion, Carlos.
