Tite is stepping down as Brazil's head coach after his team was knocked out of the World Cup on Friday.
The 61-year-old reaffirmed his desire to depart shortly after the Selecao's quarterfinal loss to Croatia on penalties.
"It is very difficult," Tite told reporters, according to BBC Sport.
"The cycle ended and I said that one-and-a-half years ago. I needed to have the full cycle and now I have the full cycle and have followed the moments."
Tite had announced before the World Cup that he would leave his role after six years in charge.
It's the second time that Tite's Brazil squad has been eliminated from the World Cup in the quarterfinals.
Tite, who was appointed in 2016, oversaw Brazil's Copa America triumph in 2019.
