France, Croatia to split $66M prize money in World Cup final
The winner of Sunday's World Cup final between France and Croatia will receive $38 million USD from a record-high $400-million prize pool from FIFA, while the runner-up will earn themselves $28 million.
Belgium, who secured third place after defeating England 2-0 in Saturday's consolation playoff, guaranteed itself $24 million with the victory.

The $400-million prize pool is $42-million larger than the one shared by all 32 teams at the 2014 World Cup. Then, Germany won $35 million of an available $358-million pool, while runner-up Argentina earned $25 million.
In 2002, the total prize money shared among all World Cup teams was just $134 million, according to FIFA. That nearly doubled for the 2006 tournament in Germany ($236 million), before climbing to $348 million in 2010.
