Mario Mandzukic stepped up in the big moment.
With his Croatia side and England knotted at one apiece in extra time of Wednesday's World Cup semi-final, the Juventus striker capitalised on a brief lapse in concentration from the English backline, pouncing inside the penalty area before driving the ball beyond Jordan Pickford in the 109th minute.
The goal stood up as the winner and sent Croatia to its first-ever World Cup final, where France awaits on Sunday.
