Wenger weighing international role: 'Maybe, yes, I will do it at some stage'

Arsene Wenger admitted that he's intrigued by the idea of coaching a national team at some point after the curtain closes on his storied Arsenal career.

The 68-year-old manager would consider a role at the international level, but insisted that he would only make the switch when the demands at the club level become too overwhelming as he grows older.

"Maybe, yes, I will do it at some stage," Wenger said in an interview with beIN Sports. "But until now, I've liked to be involved every day in the life of a club, because the real test is there."

"Four or five weeks ... OK it's a different experience, it's more concentrated. But I believe the real experience to manage a team is on a daily basis.

"But I will not always have the physical strength to do that, so maybe I will move into that (international work)."

Wenger has previously been linked to roles with France and England, but didn't appear close to joining either nation.

Such a move would follow his 20-plus-year tenure as Arsenal manager.
