Kim Boutin is cleaning up in her first Olympic appearance.

The 23-year-old short track speedskater grabbed her third medal of PyeongChang 2018 on Thursday, claiming silver in the women's 1,000-meter. Her latest accolade comes on the back of two bronze medals, in the 500-meter and 1,500-meter races, respectively.

She's now the fourth Canadian to stand on the podium at least three times in a single Winter Olympics, joining esteemed compatriots Cindy Klassen (five), Gaetan Boucher (three), and Marc Gagnon (three).

As the only Canadian with three medals in PyeongChang so far, Boutin is in serious contention to carry the flag at the closing ceremony later this week.

Suzanne Schulting of the Netherlands was the surprise gold medalist in the race, as the 20-year-old beat out Boutin and decorated Italian Arianna Fontana; the two South Koreans in the field connected with one another on a turn, crashing hard into the wall, and thus finishing off the podium, much to the dismay of the home crowd.
