2-time MVP Parker signs with defending champion Aces

Two-time WNBA MVP Candace Parker has announced she's signing with the defending champion Las Vegas Aces.

Parker averaged 13.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists for the Chicago Sky last season.

"After evaluating the landscape together with my family, we’ve decided the Las Vegas Aces are the right organization for us at this point in our lives," Parker wrote on Instagram.

The 36-year-old joins a star-studded roster, including reigning MVP A'ja Wilson, All-WNBA First Team selection Kelsey Plum, Finals MVP Chelsea Gray, and Most Improved Player Jackie Young.

Parker spent two campaigns with her hometown Sky, delivering the club's first championship in 2021. She previously spent 13 seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks, winning a ring in 2016 and appearing in five All-Star games.

"I’m forever appreciative of everyone in Chicago - our fans, teammates, coaches, and ownership. But more than the past two seasons, I’m thankful to the city that raised me, the childhood friends I still have to this day, the teachers I still am learning from, and the moments in time that will forever be in my heart."

The Aces won their first title in franchise history under head coach Becky Hammon this past season, defeating the Connecticut Sun 3-1 in the finals.

"I’m looking forward to continuing the journey this summer in Las Vegas."
