Mercury outlast Aces in Game 5 to clinch WNBA Finals berth

Diana Taurasi caught fire late to finish with 24 points in the Phoenix Mercury's 87-84 win over the Las Vegas Aces in Game 5.

Taurasi scored 14 of her 24 points in the fourth quarter. The legendary guard is now 16-2 in win-or-go-home games during her career, according to The Athletic's Chantel Jennings.

Brittney Griner also performed incredibly with a game-high 28 points, nine rebounds, and a game-sealing block against Aces star A'ja Wilson with under five seconds remaining.

Wilson finished with 21 points and 10 boards, while Chelsea Gray and Kelsey Plum each poured in 22 for Las Vegas in the loss.

Phoenix's victory secured the Mercury a WNBA Finals berth against Candace Parker and the Chicago Sky.
