Dream fire top executive Sienko after 3 seasons

The Atlanta Dream have dismissed team president and general manager Chris Sienko after three seasons, the club told The Associated Press' Doug Feinberg.

The Dream went a franchise-best 23-11 (.676) and advanced to the semifinals in 2018, Sienko's first season running the front office. However, the team dropped to 8-26 (.235) and 7-15 (.318) in 2019 and 2020, finishing outside of the playoff picture in both campaigns.

The Dream's public image has more recently been tied with off-court drama, namely due to the team's controversial former co-owner, ex-U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler.

Loeffler and co-owner Mary Brock sold the franchise to an ownership group headed by real estate developer Larry Gottesdiener in February. The group prominently features former Dream point guard Renee Montgomery, one of the first players Atlanta acquired during Sienko's tenure.
