Longtime WNBA star Seimone Augustus has re-signed with the Los Angeles Sparks, the team announced Monday.

In 21 games for the Sparks in 2020, the 6-foot wing averaged 5.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in just under 16 minutes per contest.

"She brings efficient outside shooting, scoring in bunches, and an elite basketball IQ on both ends of the floor that will be important for us next season," general manager and head coach Derek Fisher said in a statement. "We’re excited she’ll be continuing her storied career in Los Angeles."

Augustus' return will help to stabilize the Sparks' roster after homegrown stars Candace Parker and Chelsea Gray departed as free agents in the offseason.

The 2021 season will be the soon-to-be 37-year-old's second campaign with the Sparks following a distinguished 14-year run as a Minnesota Lynx pillar during the team's dynastic reign in the 2010s.

With Minnesota, the 2006 first overall pick captured titles in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017, which included the LSU product receiving Finals MVP honors in 2011. Augustus is also an eight-time All-Star, a six-time All-WNBA team selection, and she was voted onto the "WNBA Top 20@20" list in 2016.
