Sparks sign 4-year vet Holmes
The Los Angeles Sparks signed free agent Bria Holmes to a contract, the team announced Friday.
The Atlanta Dream drafted the 6-foot-3 wing with the 11th pick in 2016. Holmes spent the past two seasons as a rotation piece on the Connecticut Sun, enjoying a Finals appearance in 2019 followed by last year's semifinals run in the Bradenton bubble.
“Bria Holmes is a competitor who puts pressure on the rim, defends with intensity, and provides us with youth, size, and athleticism as both a shooting guard and small forward,” Sparks coach and general manager Derek Fisher said.
Holmes averaged 4.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in just over 16 minutes per game in 2020. Connecticut posted a minus-12 net rating in 291 minutes with Holmes on the court.
