While Father's Day recognizes the father figures in our lives, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant instead focused his day on a trio of important women.
As the Phoenix Mercury and hometown Los Angeles Sparks squared off, Kobe and two of his daughters, Natalia and Gianna, got to witness history.
In the first half of action, Mercury guard Diana Taurasi became the WNBA's all-time leading scorer with her 14th point of the afternoon, passing Tina Thompson's mark of 7,488 points. Taurasi - who is currently in her 13th season with Phoenix - has averaged 19.9 points per game throughout her career.
Bryant spoke on Taurasi's achievement, calling her work ethic and body of work "extremely consistent."
