Europe had the competition right where they wanted them after a couple dismal pre-tournament outings.
During Saturday's surprise 3-0 win over the United States, captain Anze Kopitar - who happened to be mic'd up - joked from the bench that his club had fooled the other World Cup teams with consecutive exhibition losses to North America.
Europe won't likely be sneaking up on anyone now.
