Report: South Carolina's Fulwiley to enter transfer portal
South Carolina standout MiLaysia Fulwiley will reportedly enter the transfer portal, sources told The Greenville News' Lulu Kesin.
Fulwiley was the Gamecocks' second-highest scorer in her sophomore season, averaging 11.7 points with 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals in 18.9 minutes off the bench. She shot 42.6% from the field and 25.8% from beyond the arc.
The move comes after Florida State guard Ta'Niya Latson announced her transfer to South Carolina on Tuesday. Latson averaged 25.4 points this year - the most in Division I. Her addition would've likely generated fewer opportunities for Fulwiley next season.
Fulwiley was a hometown favorite for the Gamecocks, helping lead them to a national championship in 2024.
The Gamecocks fell just short of a repeat, losing to UConn in the championship game. Fulwiley was held to nine points on 4-of-7 shooting in what was likely her final game with South Carolina.
