The New York Red Bulls, New England Revolution, and Nashville SC all punched their tickets to the MLS postseason on Wednesday night, adding some clarity to the Eastern Conference playoff picture with just over a week remaining in the regular season.

Eight of the 10 playoff spots in the East have now been claimed.

The Red Bulls beat New England 1-0 on Wednesday to secure their place in the postseason, picking up the three points courtesy of an 89th-minute goal from defender Aaron Long.

Despite the defeat, the Revs still joined the party thanks to Inter Miami's 2-1 loss to FC Dallas. That result was also decisive for Nashville, and the club is now the sixth expansion franchise in MLS history to reach the playoffs during its inaugural season. Gary Smith's side beat Montreal on Tuesday to do its part.

Of the 14 teams in the Eastern Conference, 10 will make the playoffs this season.
