Tottenham's Lloris to miss Europa League contest due to shoulder injury
Tottenham will have to rely on Michel Vorm between the sticks Thursday following news that first-choice 'keeper Hugo Lloris will miss the team's Europa League encounter with Fiorentina because of a shoulder injury.
Despite completing Sunday's win over Manchester City, Lloris sustained the injury in the closing minutes of the contest during a mid-air collision with defender Nicolas Otamendi.
The next concern for manager Mauricio Pochettino will be whether Lloris can returrn to fitness ahead of Tottenham's FA Cup match against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
With centre-back Jan Vertonghen out with an injury, Tottenham's brilliant defensive record could be significantly impacted by the loss of Lloris.
Lloris has appeared in all but one of Tottenham's Premier League contests, including all of the team's Europa League matches. He's led Spurs to one of the defensive records in England's top flight after limiting opponents to 19 goals against.
