Daniel Sturridge: Won't be rushed back
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said Monday that Sturridge (hamstring) would not be brought back before he's fully up to fitness. "Last week and this week are the most intensive weeks for Daniel Sturridge for the last three years," Klopp said. "So you can see what we have to do. I don't want to see him in training because everybody knows you go ‘oh my god, come on, bring him'. That's his quality. But we have to be really, really patient in this moment. We have to wait, we have to train, we have to give the body the right information, and then he can go. If we do this, then maybe we can change something or we will be here talking about Daniel Sturridge for the next 10 years. This is a good moment to try to change something."
Analysis:
Sturridge has dealt with a multitude of ailments over the last two years, and getting him to stay fit is of the utmost importance for the club. Christian Benteke is expected to continue starting while Sturridge and Divock Origi (hamstring) are sidelined.
