Fenerbahce boss dismisses rumours linking Van Persie to Barcelona
Rumours linking Robin van Persie with a move to Barcelona were put to rest after Fenerbahce manager Vitor Pereira dismissed reports of a rift between him and the striker.
"I have no problem with Van Persie," Pereira told Fenerbahce's website, courtesy of Sky Sports.
"I have no information about a transfer. I am pleased with him."
The former Manchester United and Arsenal striker has struggled to adapt to life in Turkey following a handful of situations this season in which he either found himself on the bench or substituted out of matches prematurely.
His displeasure with life at Fenerbahce came to light when he admitted he was not happy with a bench role.
Van Persie was then linked with a move away after just three months with the club. Barcelona emerged as an interested suitor, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, following a devastating knee injury to superstar Lionel Messi.
The 32-year-old has since improved his performances since admitting his frustrations - most recently scoring a beautiful goal from a set piece - and will likely be an important part of Fenerbahce's bid to improve on its current third-place position in the Super Lig table.
