VIDEO: Messi equalises at UEFA Super Cup with free-kick, then scores another
It was all about Argentina in the opening moments of Tuesday's UEFA Super Cup.
More specifically, it was all about Lionel Messi.
Ever Banega handed Sevilla (last season's Europa League winner) a 1-0 lead only three minutes into the fixture. Messi immediately responded in the most Messi-esque of ways, scoring an even more impressive free-kick to draw Barcelona (last season's Champions League winner) level.
Of course, one measly free-kick isn't enough for Messi, an alien who tallied 43 La Liga goals last season as well as another 10 in the Champions League. He replicated his equaliser in the 16th minute, putting Barcelona ahead with a near-identical free-kick that once again flew by the outstretched fingertips of Beto.
For any other player on the planet, the following statistic would come as no surprise.
Lionel Messi has scored two direct free-kick goals in a game for the first time in his career.

Messi, however, is still no stranger to slotting home free-kicks.
2 - Messi's freekicks in the last 3 seasons
13/14: 3 goals, 43 attempts
14/15: 2 goals, 55 attempts
15/16: 2 goals, 2 attempts
Incredible.
