Injury-plagued Milan lose Musacchio to knee injury for next 6-8 weeks
A day after learning they'll be without Lucas Biglia for four months, AC Milan discovered they'll also be without Mateo Musacchio for the next six-to-eight weeks after the center-back suffered a posterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee during Thursday's Europa League tie against Real Betis, the club announced Friday.
Musacchio was injured with approximately 10 minutes left in the 1-1 stalemate after a collision with teammate Franck Kessie. The defender was motionless on the pitch for a few moments before receiving treatment and was ultimately replaced by Alessio Romagnoli.
Milan, who are set to face seven-time reigning Serie A champions Juventus on Sunday, are dealing with a rapidly growing list of injuries.
In addition to Biglia and Musacchio, the Rossoneri will also be without center-back Mattia Caldara until the new year due to a torn Achilles tendon, while Gonzalo Higuain's lingering back issue has cast doubts over his status for Sunday's clash.
