RB Salzburg enjoyed an incredible four-minute spell in the second half of its Europa League quarter-final second leg on Thursday, scoring three goals against Lazio to book a spot in the semi-finals.

Goals from Amadou Haidara, Hee-Chan Hwang, and Stefan Lainer between the 72nd and 76th minutes handed the Austrian side a dramatic 4-1 victory on the night and, more importantly, a decisive 6-5 win on aggregate.

No team in the history of the Europa League had ever scored three goals in such a short amount of time.

Red-hot striker Ciro Immobile gave Lazio a seemingly insurmountable 5-2 advantage in the tie when he curled home a beautiful shot from distance in the 55th minute.

But Salzburg wasn't going to give up so easily.

Munas Dabbur scored a minute after Immobile to give the host hope. Haidara's low, driven strike then narrowed the deficit to two, and Hwang jumped on a defensive miscue to pull the comeback within one. Lainer's header finally sealed it.

Last Thursday's 4-2 defeat at the Stadio Olimpico was a rare blemish on Salzburg's record - the club hadn't lost a match in any competition since August - and it then proceeded to drop points in domestic action last weekend.

This time, there was a response.

Salzburg, which is unbeaten in 25 home matches this season, will face one of Marseille, Arsenal, or Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.
