Patrice Evra is under the microscope after kicking out.

On Friday, UEFA opened disciplinary proceedings following the match between Vitoria Sport Clube and Olympique de Marseille in the Europa League's group stage. Among the charges is one involving Evra, who received a red card for violent conduct before the game started, the result of kicking one of the French club's supporters in the head.

Evra has been suspended for at least one match, while the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will decide on the case at its next meeting on Nov. 10.

A communique was published by Marseille after the game, announcing that an internal investigation was launched by the club.

Evra became the first-ever player to receive a red card before a game's kickoff in the history of the Europa League.
