Huddersfield Town brokered its 10th incoming transfer of the summer windowon Friday by bringing in Mathias Jorgensen from FC Copenhagen.

The imposing centre-back signed a three-year contract in West Yorkshire, and The Sun's Tom Barclay understands the undisclosed fee was somewhere in the region of £3.5 million.

The 27-year-old - nicknamed "Zanka" as an homage to the character Sanka from 1993 movie "Cool Runnings" - is a full Danish international and has made over 50 appearances across the Europa League and Champions League.

"He is a very complete defender with great experience of being successful in every league he has played in, which served us well with the signings we made last season too," Huddersfield manager David Wagner said.

"His athleticism and football intelligence will be big assets in the Premier League, for sure, and he is a super professional character, which will fit in with our current group of players very well."

Jorgensen began his career with Copenhagen, but moved to PSV Eindhoven for two seasons in 2012. After returning to the Danish capital, the defender added his fourth and fifth Superliga titles, and achieved the same feat in the Danish Cup.

He'll offer immediate competition to the current first-choice pairing of Michael Hefele and May's penalty shootout hero, Christopher Schindler, and will add depth while Jon Gorenc Stankovic nurses his long-term knee injury.
