Jorge Mendes' work behind the scenes at Wolverhampton Wanderers may result in one of the most audacious moves of his career.

The super agent - who counts Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez, Angel Di Maria, and Diego Costa among his clients - is working in his advisory role at second-tier Wolves to broker the arrival of Portuguese international Ruben Neves.

Club manager Nuno Espirito Santo and Neves share Mendes as a representative, and the former has expressed confidence in the 20-year-old Porto midfielder moving to the West Midlands in the summer transfer window.

Sky Sports News HQ estimates that it'll cost Wolves £15 million to acquire Neves, who became the youngest captain in the Champions League when he donned the armband for Porto against Maccabi Tel Aviv in October 2015. Since then, the Mozelos native has been a staple in top-20 lists of the finest young players in Europe.

Now, Neves could be lining up in the Championship against Middlesbrough on Aug. 5, before trundling out for a League Cup visit from fourth-tier Yeovil Town three days later.
