Nomadic footballer Seydou Doumbia will play his football at Basel next season, sealing his third consecutive move on loan from Roma in the past year-and-a-half.
Roma announced Tuesday that it reached an agreement with the Swiss club, which has the right make the move permanent next year.
Signed from CSKA Moscow in January 2015, Doumbia failed to make an impression at the Stadio Olimpico. He was sent back to Russia for another short stint with CSKA at the start of last season, and later shipped to Newcastle for the second half of the term.
Doumbia played barely a half-hour of Premier League football for the Magpies, and they ultimately declined to pick up his £17.4-million buyout clause.
