Has Cristiano Ronaldo played his final game for Al-Nassr?

The Portuguese icon shared a cryptic message Monday after his team's final match of the Saudi Pro League season, leading to renewed suggestions that he could leave the club when his contract expires next month.

"This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all," Ronaldo wrote on social media.

Al-Nassr conceded two late goals in a 3-2 loss against Al-Fateh on Monday, ultimately finishing third in the table and therefore failing to qualify for next season's AFC Champions League.

Ronaldo, 40, scored the opening goal of the match and finished as the league's top scorer for the second consecutive season.

His contract is set to expire June 30.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino recently suggested Ronaldo could play at the upcoming Club World Cup, claiming "some clubs" are exploring the possibility of signing the veteran forward during an extraordinary transfer window that's been put in place this summer ahead of the tournament.

The unique transfer window is open from June 1-10. The Club World Cup begins June 14 in the United States.

"Cristiano Ronaldo might play in the Club World Cup," Infantino told online streamer IShowSpeed. "There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup, who knows. Still a few weeks time, will be fun.”

Al-Nassr didn't qualify for the Club World Cup, but Ronaldo has been linked with fellow Saudi team Al-Hilal and Brazilian outfit Palmeiras, potentially on a short-term deal or on loan.
