Luis Suarez is set to play alongside Lionel Messi once again after officially joining the Argentine superstar at Inter Miami, the Major League Soccer club announced Friday.

Suarez put pen to paper on a one-year contract until the end of the 2024 MLS season after reportedly meeting with Miami officials in November to discuss the move.

"I'm very happy and excited to take on this new challenge with Inter Miami," the Uruguayan striker said.

"I can’t wait to get started, and I'm ready to work to make the dream of winning more titles with this great club a reality. I'm optimistic about what we can achieve together with our shared ambition.

"I will give my all to bring joy to these great fans I've heard so much about while I wear Inter Miami colors, and look forward to reuniting with great friends and players. I'm also eager to meet my new teammates and coaches."

The 36-year-old was most recently at Gremio and was named the Brazilian league's player of the season with 17 league goals and 11 assists.

Suarez and Messi last played together at Barcelona, where they led the Catalan club to countless trophies, including the Champions League, five La Liga titles, and several more.

The transfer will also see Suarez reunite with two other of his former teammates from Barcelona, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.

Suarez left Barcelona in 2020 to play for Atletico Madrid before stops at his boyhood club, Nacional, in Uruguay and Gremio.
