Playoffs secured 🔒

Just hours after arriving from international duty with Italy in 2015, Giovinco was named among the substitutes for a must-win match against the Red Bulls that would secure TFC their 1st trip to the postseason. Toronto would go on to win and make history, but not without some Atomic Ant magic. 👉

MVP honors 🏅

The 2015 season didn't end as TFC hoped - losing to rival Montreal in the playoffs - but there was at least some individual consolation. After bagging 22 goals and 16 assists in his debut MLS season, Giovinco was named the league's MVP - a sign of things to come for both player and club.

Silencing New York 🔇

Giovinco had 5 hat-tricks with TFC, though only one of those came in the playoffs. With NYCFC looking to erase a 1st-leg deficit at home in 2016, Giovinco put their hopes to bed with 3 goals in the 2nd leg. The Reds would go on to hammer New York 5-0 and make their first Eastern Conference final. 👉

Cheers to Atlanta 🍻

Not every memorable Giovinco highlight was a stunning goal or career milestone, though. He showed off his sense of humor in Atlanta, picking up and finishing off a cup of beer thrown near him by the crowd. He later responded in full with a stellar free-kick to salvage a 2-2 draw. 👉

Mission complete ✅

A year removed from a painful penalty shootout loss against Seattle in the 2016 final, TFC would finally get their revenge against the Sounders, winning 2-0 at home to win their 1st MLS Cup. Giovinco didn't have a goal of his own, but his pass sprung Jozy Altidore loose for the 67th-minute opener. 👉

Magic in Mexico 🇲🇽

There was an abundance of stunning goals during Giovinco's TFC stint, but the 32-year-old had a special knack for unstoppable set-pieces. There are too many to choose from over 4 memorable years, but his free-kick against Tigres away in the CCL helped book a semi-final date with Club America. 👉
