6 great achievements from Petr Cech's legendary career

2010 FA Cup final

Chelsea have Cech to thank for winning the FA Cup final against Portsmouth in 2010. After stopping Frederic Piquionne's point-blank effort, Cech denied Kevin Prince-Boateng from the spot to help the Blues secure the trophy. It marked club's first-ever double after it also claimed the Premier League.

200 clean sheets

After capturing a record 170th clean sheet in 2015 against Bournemouth, Cech registered No. 200 courtesy of some stellar play for Arsenal against Watford during the 2018-19 campaign. His heroics included turning away noted critic of Gunners fortitude Troy Deeney's effort from the penalty spot.

4 Golden Gloves

Cech solidified his Premier League legend status after capturing his fourth Golden Glove. Leading the league in clean sheets during the 2015-16 term brought him level with Joe Hart. Cech also became the first to win the award with two different teams - twice apiece with Chelsea and Arsenal.

Record-breaking season

Cech's first season at Stamford Bridge was one for the ages, as the Czech limited opponents to a league-record 15 goals against during the 2004-05 campaign. Along with playing an absurd 1,024 minutes without conceding, Cech ended the season with a league-record 24 clean sheets.

2012 Champions League final

Cech etched his name in Chelsea lore when his prolific play between the sticks propelled the Blues to a Champions League title in 2012. After denying Arjen Robben's penalty in extra time to keep the game level, Cech went on to make another two saves in the shootout before Didier Drogba's deciding strike.

Return from devastating injury

Cech's glittering career was in danger of ending prematurely after he suffered a depressed skull fracture in his third season at Chelsea. However, he returned to the pitch three months later sporting a rugby-style helmet, which has now become synonymous with the legendary goalkeeper.
