Chase Young, Ohio State

Young is the best defensive player in college football, but a sudden two-game ban for an NCAA infraction pushed him to the edge of contention. The sack master will need a strong finish to earn an invitation to New York.

J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State

Dobbins has scored two touchdowns in each of his last three games, and he's reached the end zone in nine of 10 contests this year. The Buckeyes' offense runs through the star rusher, and he consistently delivers.

Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin

Nobody in college football history has posted more rushing yards through his junior season than Taylor. If the Heisman was awarded for career achievements, the Wisconsin star would win easily.

Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma

Hurts led the Sooners to a 25-point comeback win over Baylor - in prime time, no less - to keep Oklahoma's playoff hopes alive. He's thrown 28 touchdowns and also leads the team in rushing with nearly 1,000 yards.

Joe Burrow, LSU

No opponent has found a way to slow Burrow down. His three-touchdown game against Alabama in enemy territory was the defining performance of his spectacular campaign.
