Adam Scott

Scott finished as the runner-up two weeks ago at the Memorial, where he led the field in strokes gained: approach. He’s posted four straight top-20 results in majors, including a T-8 at the most recent PGA Championship.

Francesco Molinari

Molinari should shine at a firm course where hitting fairways is a must. He’s struggled slightly since his collapse at the Masters, but his recent strong play on the game’s biggest stages suggests he’ll be in the mix.

Jordan Spieth

It’s clear Spieth has turned a corner recently while rattling off three straight top-10s, including one at Bethpage Black. He won the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2017 and should contend at a course that doesn’t require distance.

Xander Schauffele

Schauffele has finished inside the top six in both of his prior starts at the U.S. Open. This time, the California native should feel right at home and be in the hunt to claim his first major title.

Justin Thomas

With two starts under his belt since returning from injury, Thomas looks to have regained his early-season form. He was second in strokes gained: tee to green last week in Canada.

Patrick Cantlay

Fresh off his Memorial Tournament title, Cantlay's in the conversation as one of the favorites at Pebble Beach. He has all the tools to win, but he’ll need to prove he can do it under another level of pressure.

Rory McIlroy

Picking up the Canadian Open win should do wonders for McIlroy’s confidence at Pebble. However, he’s missed three straight cuts at U.S. Opens and will need to overcome a tough setup to win his fifth major.

Tiger Woods

Tiger had no chance at Bethpage Black, where distance and accuracy are everything. But Pebble will allow Woods to club down off the tee and hit more fairways. If his irons are dialed in, look out.

Brooks Koepka

Koepka’s quest for a three-peat won’t be easy. On paper, Pebble doesn’t give Koepka the advantage he enjoyed at Bethpage or Erin Hills. Regardless, history shows he’ll be there on Sunday.

Dustin Johnson

DJ has an extensive history at Pebble Beach. He held the 54-hole lead in 2010 before shooting 82 in the final round. He’s also finished inside the top 10 at the Pro-Am numerous times, and he's posted back-to-back runner-ups in majors this season.
