The 39th minute of Chile's 3-0 friendly win versus Peru on Friday saw Rinaldo Cruzado throw a vicious elbow into Gary Medel's face, leaving the Chilean with one dislocated tooth, one cracked tooth, and a cut on the tongue that required stitches.

While Cruzado received a red card for the aggressive incident, Medel was forced to undergo mouth surgery after the match in what was described as an "urgent dental procedure" according to team doctor Giovanni Carcuro.

Here's video footage of the incident:

Medel had scored Chile's second goal only moments before receiving the elbow, while Eduardo Vargas scored the match's other two goals.
