One of Europe's highest-rated young 'keepers, Lafont is swapping Toulouse's plum kits for Fiorentina's seminal La Viola strip.

Fiorentina confirmed Monday that it signed the 19-year-old France youth international on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the two parties agreed on an €8.5-million fee for the player.

Lafont becomes the fifth Frenchman in Fiorentina's first team, joining Jordan Veretout, Valentin Eysseric, Cyril Thereau, and Vincent Laurini in Stefano Pioli's side.

A Toulouse academy product, the Burkina Faso-born shot-stopper made his debut for the Ligue 1 outfit as a 16-year-old during the 2015-16 campaign, making 24 league appearances for Pascal Dupraz's Les Pitchouns. He is the youngest 'keeper to play in Ligue 1 at 16 years, 310 days.

Also the youngest 'keeper to make 50 appearances in French top-flight history, Lafont is touted alongside AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma as the next generation of star shot-stoppers.
