Khedira rules out serious injury after early exit vs. Monaco
Sami Khedira believes he'll return from injury in time to help Juventus win a historic treble.
The German was diagnosed with a thigh strain after being forced off the pitch early in the first half of Tuesday's Champions League clash against Monaco.
"Good news. It's nothing serious. I'll rest for the next couple of days, but after that I'll be able to help the team in the decisive games," the former Stuttgart midfielder wrote on Twitter.
The Bianconeri confirmed in a separate statement that Khedira has already begun working on his rehabilitation, with his condition monitored "daily."
It's unclear whether manager Massimiliano Allegri can count on the 30-year-old for Sunday's potential title-clinching showdown against Roma.
Khedira had touted a clean bill of health for the majority of the campaign, scoring five goals in 44 appearances across all competitions.
Along with the trip to the Italian capital, Juventus is scheduled to play in the Coppa Italia final on May 17 and the Champions League showpiece on June 3.
